Meet Erin

PERINATAL PSYCHOLOGIST | MOTHER OF THREE | MATRESCENCE ADVOCATE

Like many parents, my own journey into motherhood brought moments of joy, uncertainty, overwhelm, and significant personal growth. Through this experience, I became increasingly aware of how much support families often need during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the early years of parenting, yet how difficult it can be to find the right support at the right time.

This inspired me to further develop my knowledge in perinatal and infant mental health, with a particular interest in matrescence, the emotional, relational, practical, and identity changes that can emerge as we become parents.

Today, I support individuals and families navigating pregnancy, birth preparation, postpartum adjustment, birth trauma, anxiety, identity shifts, relationship changes, and the many challenges and transitions that can accompany this season of life..

My approach combines evidence-based psychological support with compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for the uniqueness of every family's journey. I believe there is no single "right" way to become a parent. Instead, my role is to provide a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate your own path.

Whether you are preparing to welcome your baby, adjusting to life after birth, or finding your footing in the early years of parenthood, you do not have to hold it all on your own.

Erin Henry, Sunshine Coast perinatal psychologist providing support through pregnancy, postpartum and early parenthood.

Why Mountains?

When looking at a way to represent the work that I do within the perinatal space, I wanted something that could hold the full experience of becoming and being a parent.

Those trying to conceive

Those who are pregnant

Those navigating grief and loss

Those finding their way through postpartum and early parenthood.

Mountains rise and fall in unique ways, shaped by the seasons they have weathered.

I discovered that the mountains are my safe, grounding space whilst I was in my early adult years.

I can picture the soft snow, the silence, and the glittering air that surrounded me in my pre-motherhood years. Even now, that image brings me a sense of calm.

What I loved most about being there was that I didn't have to move faster.

I simply trusted I would find my way.

Perhaps, that is what I hope to offer the families I support.

A reminder that you do not need to have it all figured out.

That the seasons will change.

That there will be moments that feel steady and moments that leave you feeling uncertain.

That there will be ups and downs, and in between.

And in those moments, there can be a pause.

A space to notice where you are.

A space to be heard.

A space to feel held.

A space where your whole experience is welcome.

I am not here to rush you towards an outcome.

I am here to sit alongside you as you find your own way through.

These are the moments you will want to remember

Beyond the therapy room

Alongside Erin Henry Psychology, I am also the founder of Dear Dahlia, a brand created from a desire to support not only babies, but the stories unfolding around them.

Through journals, keepsakes, workshops, resources and community, Dear Dahlia offers opportunities for reflection, connection and meaning-making throughout the journey of parenthood.

While both businesses share a commitment to supporting families, Dear Dahlia operates separately from my psychological practice. Content, products, workshops, testimonials and reviews published through Dear Dahlia are intended for educational and informational purposes and do not constitute psychological advice, assessment or treatment.

Engaging with Dear Dahlia, purchasing products, attending workshops, or reading testimonials does not establish a psychologist-client relationship, nor does it guarantee specific outcomes. Individual experiences will vary, and psychological support should always be tailored to your unique circumstances.

If you are seeking individual psychological support, this is provided exclusively through Erin Henry Psychology.

There is more than baby who is growing and changing
